(Disclaimer: these are different for everyone and sometimes you have to have energy or even be in the right frame of mind to be able to do these things. When I am in the frame of mind or mood, I will take the opportunity to comfort myself instead of the things we have to do - chores, housework, etc. because taking care of yourself is more important and those things can wait. This is how I mentally survive).

  • Spend time with friends and family

  • Quality time with my son

  • Self compassion

  • Read books

  • Watch movies

  • Go on a walk

  • Take myself on a solo date to the movies or a restaurant

  • Go to the book store

  • Take a bath

  • Go to the spa

  • Get a massage

  • Get a facial

  • Do a hobby

  • Paint

  • Draw

  • Go to the craft store

  • Decorate the house

  • Go shopping

  • Make an ice cream sundae

  • Netflix and chill

  • Take a nap

  • Travel

  • Book an air bnb and go by yourself if you have to

  • Therapy

  • Write

  • Watch ASMR

  • Talk on the phone

  • Eat something you really love

  • Cool a new recipe/something you enjoy

  • Research an interest

  • Take a class (non-credit or credit) at a local community college

  • Learn something new

  • Go to a museum
